A Bit More Time to Craft

Hi, I am here to share my April project for
A Bit More Time to Craft. I used the challenge sketch
from Retro Rubber to create this card.

I used a digital paper from "Regal" for the maroon background
and the upper corner is from "Merry Christmas".
I added some faux stitching around the edges.
The qualify at Retro Rubber you need to use a
stamp that is at least one year old.  The happy birthday stamp I used is from Scrappy Cat and is probably 5+ years old.
I placed a button on the corner to
add some dimension.

Lots of Layers Birthday

Hello all, last month one of the sketches at the
Crafting Circle message board had a bunch of layers and
elements to it.
Finally while looking through some of my digital downloads
from NitWits I found the pattern papers I wanted to use and the
card just fell right into place.
The collection from NitWits Collections that I used is called Promises
I love the NitWits Collections because they all coordinate.  They come with                                      many embellishments and coordinating papers.
I just imported the pattern papers into my Cricut Design Space and
then I print and cut out the shapes the sizes I needed.
I cut a dark purple rectangle using a Gina Marie loopy die.
I stamped the Happy Birthday with a Gina K Designs stamp and then
water colored with my Zig Clean Color pens.
I just so happened to pick up those flower stickers at Michaels a couple
days before I made this card and they were perfect!
Well, that's it, thanks for stopping by.

Beautiful Feather Flowers

So excited to share this card.
I had just received an order of Unity Stamps ❤ that had
one stamp in that I had my eye on for a while, along with several
other sets (I know I was bad).
Then on the Unity Show & Tell Facebook page they announced the
next challenge which was to use watercolor.
I knew right away that I wanted to use the "feather" from the set called
I stamped it on Bristol Smooth paper and watercolored it with my
Zig Clean Color pens.
I made the card a long 8 1/2 by 4 inches, so I cut along one
edge of the Briston paper using a stitched border die.  I had to run it once
and then line it up and run it through my Big Shot again and I
DID IT, I lined it up perfectly. :)
I used one of my favorite color combinations teal and purple and matted by card.  The image panel is popped on top of the matting so
it has some dimension. I hardly make a card without popping part of it with craft foam or foam tape.
I hope you like my card, would love to hear what you think.

Monster Love!

Well Hello, it is that time again, time for another
It is a fun challenge, starts the 15th of each month and runs all
month long.  You can make anything you would like as long as you
use a Bugaboo image, the images are so cute that is easy to do.
Plus Jodie has a Freebie every Friday.

The image I chose to use is call "Love Monsters" and it is
just too cute.
As soon as I saw it I knew I wanted to color it in bright colors using only
primary and secondary colors.  Felt like I was going back to school, ha ha ha.

I colored him using my Copic markers and layered him on a bunch of matching colored paper that was embossed with a variety of patterns.
The card matches the sketch this week over at
Tuesday Morning Sketches, with the addition of a couple
small elements.
I added a corner die cut from My Little Paper World, this was an afterthought to cover up a small tear that happen in the corner of my picture after
I colored him(don't ya just hate when that happens?).  I had used washi tape
to tape the Gina Marie die so it would cut exactly where I wanted it, well when
I lifted it up it torn the paper.   I added a Spellbinder die cut in orange
so I would have some where to stamp the sentiment using a Unity Stamp from the.........So Glad you were Born set.
A little funny story about this image, I had it colored and laying on
my desk when my 2 1/2+ year old great grandson came in and saw it.  He
picked it up and got all excited and tried to take off with it "OH NO".
So I knew right then and there what I was going to use this for,
his birthday card. Perfect!!!
So that is my card for today, be sure and head on over
to the Bugaboo Crafty Challenge and join in, you have till
April 14th to post your project.

Bright and Cheery Birthday Card

Hi, The card I have to share with you today is made using
a lot of the things that came in the last Stamp of Approval box.

I made the center panel using the stencil that came in the SOA box and
embossing paste.  Then I colored it with Catherine Pooler inks.  I stamped the flowers using the same inks and then die cut them with the matching dies,
all the stamps and dies were also in the SOA box.
This card also follows one of the row at the
House That Stamps Built - Tic-Tac- Toe challenge.
Center row down is my card.
Well that's it, I hope you like my card.

A 10 Minute Card!!!!

Holy Moly I can't believe I did it!
For those that know me know that I am a VERY slow cardmaker,
it usually takes me 45 minutes to an hour just to pick out
the paper (think maybe I have too much paper???😏).
I made this card in 10 minutes start to finish!
I got the inspiration from the sketch at CAS(E) this Sketch this week.
The whole point of their sketches are to keep it simple.
So I pulled out my Catherine Pooler Inks and my latest
Stamp of Approval box and BAM just like that I had a card made.
For the pattern across the corner I used Catherine Pooler Inks, Lime Rickey, Aquatini and Flirty Fuchsia for the colors.  I was just going to use 2 colors and
then at the last I thought let me throw in another color for a bit of pop.
That pattern stamp is from the Catherine Pooler set called Everyday Mod
The congrats is from the set You Did It, also by Catherine Pooler.
Both sets will be available in her shop in the near future.
Well there you have it, thanks for stopping by.

Paper Piecing - Tuesday Morning #393

Hi, I am so excited to share this with you, I think I found a
new addiction.
Over at the Unity Stamps (Show n Tell) Facebook group the
challenge is to do paper piecing.  I have heard about this and seen it
around but never tried it.
Oh how I love it!  Thanks Unity for challenging me.
I stamp the flower using the Remembering You Blooms Unity stamp kit.
The sentiment is another Unity stamp for the Succulent Salutations.
I then stamped it on red pattern paper and green pattern paper.
I cut out each piece and then layered it onto the original flower I
stamped.  I love the look and the possibilities are endless, it is also
a nice alternative to coloring or painting.
I cut around the flower using a Gina Marie die, the corner is also a die cut but it is from My Little Paper World.
The ribbon banners I stamped using a Gina K stamp and then hand cut them out.
I created this card following the sketch this week over at Tuesday Morning Sketches.   The sketch was a perfect fit for this stamping project.
Thanks for stopping by and I am sure you will see a lot more
paper piecing from me :).

Mojo Monday #487

Hi, I have a quick card to share today following the
sketch over at Mojo Monday this week.
Since it is the 1st Monday of the month they offer a
$25 gift certificate to Verve Stamps.
This was a fun sketch to work with, in fact, I may make another one.
The papers I used are from a DCWV paper stack from 2009, might have
been one of my first paper stacks, although I have been making cards since 1996.
I embossed the center panel with a "woodgrain" embossing folder.
The foliage is a die that I got in my last Stamp of Approval box.
The happy birthday is a Verve stamp that I have had for years
and is one of my favorite happy birthday stamps, love the mix of cursive and
block lettering.
Well that's it, thanks for stopping by.

Isn't this elephant just adorable?  It was so easy and fun to
color using my Copic markers, also added a little bling using my Gelli Roll pens.

called Confetti Wishes.

Birthday Cheers!

Hello, I am back to share a card with you I made for
my grandson's birthday.
I made this card following the sketch at Mojo Monday for sketch
number 485.  I love to play along at Mojo Monday but this time I
could not enter it in their challenge because I didn't get it posted in time.

It's ok, my grandson turned 25 so the beer part is ok.
Plus he is in the Navy and you know what they say about Sailors and drinking.
I added some stickers that I picked up the other day on clearance
at Michaels.
All the papers are digital papers from
where I am on the design team.   They have an "Anything Goes" challenge
the 1st and 15th of each month.
I used my Cricut Explore to print and cut out all the papers.

Remember that comment about Sailors and drinking........................
well here is the inside.
Ha ha ha, this is a stamp from Repeat Impressions.
I am sure this is exactly what will happen.

Thanks for taking the time to stop by my blog.

Ants in Polka-a-Dot Booties

Hi, doesn't that title grab your attention, lol.
Well that is exactly what this image did to me when I saw it.

This month at the Crafty Awesomeness Challenge our
sponsor is SasayakiGlitter, so I got to use one of these
adorable images.

Once I saw those cute ants with their polka-a-dot booties I knew I
had to color this image, it is called Heart Ants, it made me think of Spring
coming.   I used my Copic Markers to color this one.
Originally my thought was to have a red and white checked background but
when I laid them together it just did not look right.  So I went with the bold
look of bright yellow and red.  Love the way the colors go together and
how they pick up the colors from the image.  I embossed the yellow panel with
A Cuttlebug swirls embossing folder. The black strips across the top are ribbon.
I created this card using a past sketch from
My Favorite Things Sketch Challenge and is also one of the sketches
I am using this month for the Sketch Challenge I am hosting over at
the Crafting Circle message board.  Would love to have you come and
check it out and maybe join in if you need some inspiration.  It is a challenge
that runs all month long and showcases 4 sketches and some extra credits
to get your mojo pumped up.

I hope you like my card and leave me some love.  Hope to see
you at the challenges I mentioned above.
