Vegas Baby!

Our 26th wedding anniversary was on December 27th.  Most years we go to Las Vegas for our anniversary, but this year there was just too much going on that we will have to wait till sometime in January, we love to go to Vegas.  So since we were not going on our anniversary I made my hubby this card.  It came out so cute, I love it and hope you think the same.

Wow, looking at it I used a lot of cartridges to create this card, well 5 that is a lot for me on one card.  The background starry night paper is from an outdoor stack I bought for making guy cards, but it fit perfectly here.  The "Vegas" is from the Tie the Knot cartridge and using Cricut Craft Room I welded the word "baby: from A Child's Year cartridge and sparkly glitter paper.  The Las Vegas sign is from the cartridge Destinations, I cut it in several layers using a shinny holographic like paper for the skyline, and pop dotted the sign.  The rode I cut using the My Community cartridge, it was a freebie I got way back when I got my first Expression, but there are so many useful images on it.
Then I chose the 57 Chevy from the Nifty Fifties cartridge because my hubby had one this exact color when he was younger....................oh so many many years ago ha-ha!  I even added a small heart sticker to the back fender.  This whole card fell together so well for me, you know sometimes you picture something in your head and it just does not work on paper, well this one did.  Yeah!
Here is how I finished the inside.  Although the outside of the card is a bit fun and I go with a mussy inside as my hubby does ever so much for me and probably 90% of the housework because I can't due to a spinal cord issue.  He is so wonderful and never complains, not even when I buy more stuff I "have" to have, LOL.
Well thanks so much for stopping by, would love to hear what you think of my card.
And a very very Happy New Year to all!

Baby Sweetpea

I am still playing along at the CDAC Progressive Challenge , it is so much fun and you can still join in, just click HERE.  This round I chose this adorable image from Just Some Lines , (tag "cdacpc9, JSL " .)   Every two weeks new images are posted for you to use, if you want to jump in it will only cost you $1.
So I colored my image using my Copics, I am getting better however I am pretty excited about a couple of classes offered my Melissa & Kristy at Created from Color I can't wait as they are both awesome at using their Copics.
I love this color combination, the background paper is from the DCWV Nana's Kids girl stack.   The flower I cut using the Flower Shoppe cartridge and spritz it with some Glimmer Mist and added glitter green brad to the center.  I made this card following the sketch this week at Mojo Monday , I love following sketches and each Monday, Mojo Monday comes out with a new
sketch to follow.
You can barely see it but I added some "stitching" with my white gel pen to the patch on her jammies.  You can also see the flower a little better here.  I distressed the edges of the image and the pink paper it is mounted on.
I also completed the inside, with a cut from the Fancy Frames cartridge, and left a plain piece for writing a message, not sure how I will use this card yet.  Anyone have any ideas???

Well hope you like my Sweetpea card, thanks for stopping by.

Baby"s First Christmas

Well I hope everyone had a very Merry Merry Christmas, boy was it ever busy around here!  There was so many special elements to this years Christmas that it just seemed like there was something going on every day & night for the last week.  I know I may have mentioned it in a previous post but here are a few things that makes this Christmas so special but yet very emotional & memorable.  First of all we have a great-granddaughter who will be celebrating her first Christmas, but to make it especially grand her Daddy who is in the Navy got to come home on leave to share in this moment.  My son-in-law came home on December 22nd and is retired from the Air Force after 24 years, my sons's 41 birthday was 12/22 and he is working in the oil fields in North Dakota but he got to come home.  So it was a huge homecoming for all, especially because in the up coming year, my son and daughter and their families will be moving to the Denver area,  my Navy grandson is going into submarines and another grandson is going in the Navy so not sure when we will have another Christmas like this one.
Sorry for the story, anyway here is the card you came to see.....................LOL
The image is from Pink Gem Designs, they have some adorable images be sure and check them out.  This one came both colored and uncolored, I tried to color using my Copics but I was having some trouble and running out of time so I went with the pre-colored one.  The colors were great anyways.  I printed it on white pearl paper and immediately sprinkled it with sparkle embossing powder when it came out of the printer than heated it.  I cut it out using the Make the Cut software, it is an amazing software that works with die cutting machines.  You can pretty much cut out anything, unfortunately I do not utilize it to it's full ability.  The tag that the image is mounted on using foam tape was cut using my Cricut out of white glitter paper, sorry I can't remember which cartridge.   The Merry Christmas was also cut from glitter paper using the MS Elegant cakes cartridge.  The white strip in the middle I punched using an Fiskars punch and ran red ribbon through it.
This card has a lot of sparkle to it, I used Christmas paper from a DCWV Christmas stack I got a few years ago.
I also finished the inside using several different poems and sayings and adding some of my own touches to personalize it.
I wan to wish each of you a very very Happy New year.  Thanks so much for taking the time to stop by and take a peak on my card.  I would love to hear what you think of it.  Make sure you stop back in the next week as I have several cards to post that I had not had a chance to.

Crafty Creations Blog Hop

Hi everyone, ready for a blog hop to get some inspiration for those thank you cards you have to make after the holidays?  Well this week that is what is going on at Crafty Creations.
So for my thank you card I made this snowman card using one of the images provided by A Creative Need.  I know that it is a very busy time right now so this challenge/hop will last for two weeks.
I colored the image using my Copic markers.  The sentiment is computer generated with a cute "snow capped" font that I found on line for free!  The top border I cut using the Winter Frolic cartridge and Cricut Craft Room.  Here is a close up of those letters that I added a bit of sparkle to the tops.
And the inside I did very simply so you could add a hand written message.
There are a lot of prizes being offered on the Crafty Creations blog so be sure and go on over and check them out.  There is even a few prizes along the way from the Design Team.  So go ahead join in and hop along with us.

Clean & Simple Christmas card

Hope everyone is well on their way to be ready for the upcoming holiday.  I know this year I am behind with getting my Christmas ready and mailed out.
Every year I make most of my Christmas cards the same, it is much easier for me that way.  Although leading up to making my cards I enter a lot of challenges so I end up with quite a few different ones, so this year I had about 18 different ones and made 22 of the same for the 40 I need.  So finally I finished my cards, I wanted to go for the clean & simple look because I liked this ornament stamp that I got from Stampers Best and wanted it to be the main focus because of all the pretty details.   Make sure you go by and check out Stampers Best if you are a stamper as they have some cute images, prices are great and shipping fast, what more could you ask for!
So here is my card.
This one I stamped and heat embossed it using red glitter embossing powder.  I made it in several different colors, but this one seemed to show the sparkle the best.  I also embossed the background paper with my Cuttlebug using the Mistletoe folder.  Since I embossed and used glitter is also fits into the challenge this week at Crafty Creations where I am on the design team.   Here is another version using a gold pearl embossing powder.
Then for the inside I had the first two stamps to fit along with the front of the card.
The small "merry & bright" stamp & the small ornaments stamp inside is from Gina K Designs and it matched great with my sentiment that I had.
Not a very good picture but here is a picture of some of the other colors I made, the blue one is very pretty and bright.
So I wish you all a very Merry & Bright Christmas and wonderful New Year.  Thanks so much for peaking in on my blog, would love to hear your comments.

A little birdie told me....

I made this card using one of the images for this round at the CDAC Progressive Freebie Challenge.   the image is from doodle Pantry and I think it is so adorable.  cdacpc8, doodlepantry.    I love the images at Doodle Pantry they are so cute.

I think it came so cute.  All the papers I printed  and cut using my Imagine and the Bubblegum Stripes cartridge, I just got this cartridge and love all the bright colored papers on it.
I colored the bird (chicken or ducky???) using my Copic markers then covered it with Glossy Accents.  It is pretty simple, but I think the paper does all the work.  For the most part I am not very good at mixing patterns and colors but since I got my Imagine it has made that a lot easier.
I also used my little Jacome sewing machine (thanks Okie) for sewing the pieces together.  I always forget about my little machine, but I love it.  The "a little birdie told me" is a stamp from Gina K designs.
I added a sentiment inside that I computer generated.

I was runnign out of time so all the papers are put together using repostionable tape and I will go back and sew them together.  I will post another picture when I get that done.

Thanks for stopping by and visiting my blog, please leave me a comment so that I know you were here.

Poinsettia Card

Hi, I made this card a couple of weeks ago and have just now had a chance to post it.
I had seen on a blog (sorry can't remember) that they used a flower cut from the Flower Shoppe cartridge to make a poinsettia, well I made it and had it sitting on my desk for about a month.  When a challenge was posted on the Cricut message board with a sketch that I could finally use this flower on I made this card.
I love the way it came out and I found the perfect background paper in my stash, even has the sentiment going perfectly up the side "Happy Holidays".
Here is a closer look at the flower, it is shimmery. I printed the paper using my Imagine on Cryogen White paper that has a mica like sparkle on it that shows through the printing.

Thanks so much for taking the time to stop by and visit my blog.  I would love to hear what you think of my flower.

Puppy Pile of Presents

Hello all, I know that everyone is probably running around in circles trying to get everything ready for the Holidays.............they are fast approaching and I don't even have my Christmas cards done let alone addressing them and getting them mailed.
So our challenge this week at Crafty Creations will help everyone get that job one step closer.    The challenge is to create a Christmas card using a sentiment.
Our sponsor this week is Lily of the Valley:

And the prize is

So I chose to use this darling image from LOTV and colored him using my Copic markers.

Isn't he cute all surrounded by those presents.  I cut my presents out using the Snow Angel cartridge then ran them through the Cuttlebug.  After the Cuttlebug I heat embossed them using red & green glitter embossing powder, the embossing from the Cuttlebug did not show up too well after that.
The frame around the image I cut using the Elegant Edges cartridge.  I twisted a piece of white & red ribbon to make it look like a candy cane.  There is a lot of sparkle & glitter on the image but you can't see it too well.  I used some Sakura gel pens to highlight the presents.
Here is a closer look at the presents.   The label where the "Merry Christmas" was stamped is a Spellbinder.

Thanks for stopping by, I hope you are all enjoying ready for this special time of year and take a minute or two and join in this challenge this week at Crafty Creations.

Winter Scene Stair Step Card

This is a pretty simple card looking back at it.  It would be a good card to mass produce for Christmas cards.  I think I will make more for my cards this year.
The whole card was made using the Imagine Snow Angel card.  I saw the background paper in the book and thought it would be the perfect backdrop for a stair step card.  I love making these if I can out all the pieces together right and this cartridge made it so easy.  The front two folds I ran through the Cuttlebug using the swirls folder and then sanded it to look like snow. ??
That is what is nice about printing the paper with the Imagine is that is makes it a white core paper that can be sanded.
Here is a side view where you can see how the pieces are put on.  I added some pearl pen to the "snow" on top of the buildings and a couple of the trees in the background.  Behind the house, I stamped a verse.
There was layers that could have been cut out for the snow people and the house but I chose not to cut them since the pieces would be layered on the card.  I embellished the snow people with some brown pearls.

Thanks for stopping by and hope you all had a great week and having fun getting ready for the holidays.

Decking the Halls...........

This card reminds me of the front hall/entry way to a house that is all decorated for the holidays, hence the title.
It has been so very hectic for me of late as I am sure it is for everyone.  I had about 6 birthdays and a wedding going on along with Thanksgiving and having the family here for dinner.  So with all going on I was not sure I would be able to get the project done this week for the Crafty Creations design team that I am on, but I did get one done.

This week out hostess is Bernie and our sponsor is

The challenge this week is to use a picture as your inspiration, follow the picture, color etc, however you interpret it.  I normally shy away from this kind of challenge as I think I have a hard time with them, never knowing to follow the photo, color or whatever.  So I went ahead and tried it I am pretty pleased at how it turned out.   Here is the photo inspiration

photo inspiration

Interesting and so many ways you can take it, so here is what I came up with

I am so excited with how it turned out!  What do you think, can you see the photo in it or what I was trying to convey?
The desk is cut from the French Manor cartridge (Circle exclusive) at about 2.75 inches, I cut it from plain white cardstock ( I do this a lot to check on sizes) then I covered it with Tim Holtz Vintage Photo ink and distressed embossing powder and heat embossed it. . It has a lot of texture to it and way happy with the way it resembled wood.  I cut it again from chipboard and glue them together to give it more weight to pop dotted it. Added some gold half pearls for the handles on the drawers.   The "mirror" I cut using the Fancy Frames cartridge at about 2 inches, out of a metallic DCWV paper and added a layer of foil silver for the mirror part.
Using some stickers I had I embellished the whole thing to make it look like it was decorated for the holidays.  I think I will add the sentiment "Deck the Halls".

Thanks for stopping in, please let me know what you think of my card and we would love to have you join in the challenge this week at Crafty Creations.

Cricut Circle Blog Challenge

This week the challenge in the Circle blog was to create something using some of your flowers from your stash and incorporate at least 2 Cricut cuts into it.  The prize is a $25 credit to your Cricut.com account.
Here is my card, it was also made following a sketch this week on the message board.
I have had this poinsettia flower and leaves in one of my Prima flower packs for some time now.   The background plaid paper was print and cut using the Imagine cartridge Santa's Village.  The white is pearl paper I Cuttlebugged with a plaid flower that was in a Christmas set of folders.
The flower pot was cut from Walk in my Garden , I Cuttlebugged it and then put Crackle Accents on it.    Here is a close up of the pot.
The stem of the flower is the letter "L" from the Ashlyn's Alphabet cartridge.
So I guess that covered my two cuts and 3 if you count the plaid paper.

I did the inside very simply and will stamp a sentiment is it later.
I also added some of that plaid paper from the Santa's Village cartridge.  All the plaid papers I printed on pearl paper so they have a very pretty sheen to them.
Thanks for stopping by, would love to hear what you think of my poinsettia card.

A Hole in One Birthday

It was my son-in-laws birthday earlier in the month and he loves to golf so I made him this card using a Tiffany Doodles golf ball image.  I love her images, make sure you stop by and check them out if you like to work with digital images.
He is the son-in-law that works in a print shop and often brings me some gorgeous paper to use, so I wanted to make his card extra special, however I was a little late so I added the bleated birthday which was computer generated and added some eyelets to the edges of the strips of paper.
The grass paper I printed and cut using my Imagine cartridge Snapshot Nature.  I printed the golf club and ball image twice, once on white paper and once on silver.
As soon as the silver piece came out of my printer I sprinkle it with black embossing powder and heat embossed it so the black part is raised.  The golf ball I ran through my Cuttlebug using the dots folder then covered it with Glossy Accents, I shadowed the edges with a gray a bit to make it stand out.
Then I had another moment and I thought I would add the inside sentiment printed on paper printed with my Imagine to look like sand.  The using the Give a Hoot cartridge I cut it in the shape of a "sand trap".
I also used the grass paper on the inside and added a hole flag from the Everyday Paper Doll cartridge.  I think the whole thing came out rather cute, what do you think?
Thanks for popping in and taking a look at my card, I sure hope you liked it enough to look around my blog a bit.  Would love to hear what you think.

Feelin Crabby?

I made this card following a sketch on the Cricut MB, but I think it came out so cute.   The image is a Tiffany Doodles (tagged "cdacpc7, tiffanydoodles") image that I got for free for playing along at the CDAC Progressive Freebie challenge.   It is so much fun, if you like working with digital images be sure and check it out.
I colored the image using my Copic markers, then cut him out and covered him with Glossy Accents.  I cut 3 circle using the George cartridge out of acetate and then colored it using my alcohol inks and Cuttlebugged it using the Bubbles folder.
I added so some cute red googly eyes.    The stripe behind him is black glossy paper.
I got to thinking and thought it would would make a great get well card to try and cheer someone up.  So here is what I put inside.....
It actually came from my head can you believe it???  Sometimes I do come up with something good  LOL.

Thanks for stopping by and I hoe while you are here you will take a look around at mu other creations.  If you like what you see leave me a comment or even better become a follower.

Snowflakes

This is a very simple card, that I let the paper do most of the work.  The paper is from an older Christmas stack I had from a few years ago.
The 2 snowflakes are from a couple different Cricut cartridges, I covered them with very fine crystal glitter and pop dotted them.  The sentiment is a stamp that I stamped directly on the printed paper and heat embossed with white powder.
This was my first time using crumple or crinkle ribbon that I just got from an exchange on the Cricut message board.  I am not sure I know what I am doing with it yet.  Do you think it looks OK?  I will learn as time goes by.

Thanks so much for taking the time to visit my blog.  And I wish everyone a very wonderful Thanksgiving holiday with family & friends.

An Apple for you

We just got a new set of some great images from amazing artists for this series of challenge at CDAC Progressive Freebie challenge.  This is the second series and it would be a great time for you to hop in on all the fun.  It is really easy, just go to CDAC and join up and get your free images, then all you have to do is create one project using at least of them and post it by the deadline, then you will get the images for the next round. easy peasy and fun too!

So this time I chose this cute apple image by Heart Song Designs how kind of them to offer this image for us to work with.  Make sure you check out their site for other images.  Tag - cdacpc7, heartsong
I colored the apple using my Copic markers and then glazed over it with Glossy Accents and Crackle Accents in the center.  The papers are from the DCWV Autumn stack, I love the papers in this stack.   The brown paper is sprayed with Glimmer mist so it has a gold sparkle to it.
You can see the glossy and crackle better in this photo.  The "for you" is a stamp that I have had for some time, I stamped and heat embossed it with gold.
The inside I did very simple and let it blank for a hand written note.

Thank you so much for stopping by.  I am so very glad blogger restored my blog so I have some catching up to do.

Sledding Polar Bear

Hi everyone, I am so so glad to be back.  For some reason Blogger decided the remove my blog for possible spam.  Me? my little blog? I think not, well anyway I contacted them and asked them to do a review of my blog and they re-instated it late yesterday.  Bot I sure missed having it.
So today I have to post the card I made for two challenges, one the Crafty Creations challenge, peanut butter and jelly, use Kraft paper, white/creme and one other color, also the CDAC Freebie challenge, where the image is from D2D.  Both of which I am a bit late for what wanted to post this card anyways.
The image is from Digital 2 Delight , I colored him using gray Copic makers and distressed the paper he is mounted on.

Coloring "white' is kind of tricky so I just used Cool Gray around his outline and I think that is all I needed to him to get the effect I wanted.
Hard to see but I added some Glossy Accents to the scarf.
Thanks so much for sticking it out with me during my blogger issues.  So glad to be back and hope you like my Polar Bear
